Back from vacation!!

Well, we are back! We arrived home on Thursday February 7th. We truly had a wonderful time while in San Diego and the weather was beautiful!!! And we ate a ton of food!!

Although we have been to San Diego many times to visit family we've never done the "tourist" thing and really explored so this time we took that opportunity. Here are a few of the things we did while we were there.

On Saturday Shane and I had breakfast with PapPap (Shane's grandfather Art), from there we decided to head to Old Town San Diego and spent the afternoon there. While there we enjoyed homemade salt water taffy and other wonderful pieces of candy!! Unfortunately we did not take any pictures, but here is a general idea of what it looks like.

On Sunday we attended church with PapPap and then headed out to a superbowl party at John and Keeley's house in Del Mar. It was a great day of football, eating and more football!! And this was the only day it rained our whole trip, which was a huge blessing considering it was the only full day we were inside.

Monday Shane and I headed out to the Natural Science Museum at Balboa Park. It definitely was a sight to see. Here are some pictures not only from the museum, but also our walk through Balboa Park.

After our morning we headed to Downtown to see about shopping...it was definitely a busy day, but beautiful. That night we had dinner at one of the best pizza places in San Diego, Shane use to go there with his grandmother Ernestine when he was younger, it's called Fillippi's, it's an Italian Deli/Restaurant. It's absolutely wonderful the pizza is the best!!

On Tuesday, PapPap took us to the U.S.S. Midway for a tour of the ship and look at what life was like on a Navy Carrier. He also was able to give us a little history about his life in the Navy and they had a few of the planes he use to fly on display. It was a really cool time, but I would not recommend the tour of the "WHOLE" ship if you are 8 months pregnant...the steps/ladders between decks are extremely steep and your belly might bump the steps!!

On Tuesday evening, we had dinner with Shane's cousin Sascha and her boyfriend Brandon...we had a great time we ate at a Hibachi Steakhouse in Pacific Beach, definitely yummy.

On Wednesday, Shane and I just decided to drive and see where we might end up...well, of course me being the passionate shopper I am...we ended up at Fashion Valley Mall...which is one of my favorites to visit while we are down south, it's an outdoor/open mall and the weather was beautiful. We then drove through La Jolla to see if we might find a few cute childrens boutiques, but unfortunately all we saw were surf shops and this girl is not interested in bathing suit shopping at the moment. But it was a gorgeous day!! Later in the afternoon we headed over to Uncle Paul and Aunt Tony's house to visit with them for a short while.

On Thursday, we had breakfast with PapPap and visited with him and then headed to the airport in the afternoon.
We definitely had a great time and it was great to visit with family again!!
